The Balmoral Show has long been a highlight of the agricultural calendar in Northern Ireland, but increasingly it has become a key exhibition opportunity for a wide range of machinery suppliers. Especially those in the business of materials handling, given that Northern Ireland has one of the world’s most successful clusters of engineering companies that export globally. These companies make 40% of the worlds mobile crushing and screening equipment for applications as diverse as iron ore mining in India, road construction in Peru, diamond exploration in South Africa and sand washing in the Arabian Gulf.
This was Ormonde’s second year exhibiting and it was great to see so many of our Northern Ireland customers at this occasion. The sun was shining gloriously on the 90,000 plus visitors to the exhibition, so everybody was in good spirits including all of us from Ormonde Machinery.
The Terex Finlay 1170 Jaw Crusher was on display at our stand we were delighted to receive so much support from our customers, particularly those based in Northern Ireland. During the three day show we had a huge amount of interest from young people. We felt this was particularly encouraging for the future of the sector. Ormonde Machinery sales representative Raymond Murphy was delighted to see the interest
“Terex Finlay have a well established connection with the educational sector in Northern Ireland, actively working to promote students to take up places in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) courses. Terex Finlay are looking towards the future by investing in the local economy but also in the human potential that will be key to the future development of the region”
Queen’s University Belfast and the Ulster University, along with other Northern Irish colleges have strong engineering centres which work with companies on R&D and new product development. Terex Finlay, is proud to be a partner on many of these projects.
If you haven’t been to Balmoral, put it in your diary for next year and maybe we might even see you there!
